R. Diego Velazquez is the Managing Partner of Jaffe & Velazquez, LLP.

Mr. Velazquez supervises all aspects of the firm’s practice, with a focus on strategy and attorney development. He graduated from The George Washington University School of Law in 2002, and is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and New Jersey, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Prior to joining Jaffe & Velazquez, LLP, Mr. Velazquez had worked for the World Bank, the Small Business Administration, and PaineWebber.

Since becoming managing partner in 2014, Mr. Velazquez has continued to grow its clientele in its robust transactional and litigation practice areas in the New York City metropolitan area, including New Jersey and Long Island. Mr. Velazquez’s core practice areas include business law, litigation, insurance law, entertainment law, real estate, guardianship, and trusts and estates. For nearly two decades, he has represented business clients with corporate formation, regulatory compliance, contracts, restructuring, dispute resolution, workouts, and litigation. Mr. Velazquez also personally leads the firm’s anti-fraud practice group, an innovative and dynamic team that relentlessly pursues fraud claims on behalf of corporate clients.

Mr. Velazquez is affiliated with the Business Law Section and the Wills, Trusts & Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association. Additionally, he holds the Business Law Seat in Chapter 34 of Manhattan in Business Network International.

Mr. Velazquez is hands-on and knows when to roll up his sleeves and dig in. In his capacity as Managing Partner, he is tireless in his devotion to his clients, attorney development and always ensures that firm-wide strategies align with ambitious training and mentorship goals.
